Going Green?

Ok.. well I want some info on “Going Green” because I love saving the environment… and I love using recylced items. Can anyone please help me and tell me how what the best thing to do to help the environment is. Any websites would be awesome! Thanks soo much.

Do Eco-Friendly cleaners work as good as the chemical ones?

I would love to remove all chemicals in my house because I have many animals including birds whom are free (they do have restrictions as to where they can go).
But I also like to have a thoroughly clean house with germ free surfaces. Does anybody have any ideas or helpful information?
