What green eco friendly laundry detergents actually work well?

I have tried several from the health food store and none of them really get the clothes clean.
Suggestions?

Shaklee makes a good cleaner. I’ve personally used the Fresh Laundry Concentrate which is a liquid, they also make a powder. It looks like a small bottle and it’s about $15 on their site, but you use less per wash than normal detergents so it goes a long way.
It’s worked for me for regular clothes washing and towels.
